CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT:

Within a Fashion Boutique Tailoring Atelier, the Atelier Manager plays a pivotal role in the Ready-to-Wear strategy, bringing the CHANEL&moi engagement to life for every team member.

As an Atelier Manager, you are both ambassador and guardian of the Perfect Fit, embodying and transmitting our Maison’s commitment to excellence through every client fitting and technical intervention by your team.

You collaborate closely with Boutique Managers and Fashion Advisors to orchestrate seamless fitting experiences, and you develop your team’s ability to create unforgettable moments for clients.

You report directly to the RTW Sales Manager or Operation Manager of the boutique, while maintaining a dotted-line collaboration with the CHANEL&moi RTW & Ecole de la Retouche team in Paris. This dual reporting structure ensures seamless alignment between boutique objectives and technical excellence in alterations.

1. PERFECT FIT EXCELLENCE: At CHANEL, the Ready-to-Wear experience is truly unique, distinguished by a relentless pursuit of the Perfect Fit. As an Atelier Manager, you are the guardian of the fitting ceremony, where each adjustment becomes a celebration of savoir-faire. You combine exceptional, personalized client communication skills with strong tailoring expertise, ensuring each client meets the tailoring difference of the House. Thanks to your managerial skills, you inspire and engage every tailor, uniting the team around this shared commitment to excellence. Your guidance transforms the Atelier into a place where craft, care, and client experience are woven together in every fitting.

• In the client relationship, your communication agility allows you to handle always with tact and diplomacy any delicate situation preserving long-term harmony.
• You conduct fittings with VIC clients and adapt seamlessly to exceptional contexts, such as at-home, in a hotel, or remote Haute Couture sessions.
• You guide the Fitting Tailors in their development, coach them during the fitting ceremony and monitor tailoring steps to protect and elevate the CHANEL Perfect Fit difference.

• You assess and validate adjustments alongside Fitting Tailors and Tailors, ensuring fluid teamwork and upholding the highest standards of quality for all adjusted pieces.

2. ATELIER TEAM MANAGEMENT & COACHING: Tailoring being a key of ready-to-wear success, you support and develop the tailoring team to achieve boutique and Atelier objectives. You inspire and unite tailors by fostering collaboration and celebrating collective successes.

• You ensure a clear understanding and communication of the Tailoring and CHANEL&moi strategy, including adjustment precision, CHANEL’s commitments, services, and professional posture.
• In close collaboration with the boutique team, you guide and motivate Fitting Tailors and Tailors, promoting excellence in client relations, fittings, and sewing. You mentor Fitting Tailors in their development and strengthen client loyalty through strong interpersonal skills.
• You conduct mid-year and annual development conversations, define and monitor the development and training plans for each tailor.
• You facilitate the collection knowledge, transmit and valorise the uniqueness of CHANEL pieces in collaboration with Learning and CHANEL&moi teams. You organise or lead regular morning briefings on collection launches and tailoring topics.
• You ensure the proper application of procedures, correct use of alteration tools, and respect of the boutique charter.
• You ensure adherence to CHANEL tailoring techniques and gestures, as taught by the École de la Retouche.

3. ATELIER OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT: Driving Atelier performance through workload management and close collaboration with RTW Sales Managers, identifying opportunities, anticipating risks, and keeping teams ahead.

• You are responsible for piloting the tailoring activities and monitoring KPIs as volumes, quality, and client experience. You act proactively, finding solutions to support boutique operations, client-specific requests, and exceptional sales.
• You leverage digital alteration tools to generate insights that enhance Atelier performance and strengthen team alignment. You are accountable for data accuracy, you foster a culture where every team member is informed, responsible, and engaged.
• You optimize the structure and organization of the Atelier through strong talent development skills and practical agility (e.g. people, space, equipment…)
• You manage the Atelier agenda, ensuring client satisfaction and alignment with boutique goals while valorising the savoir-faire and anchoring a “quality over quantity” mindset across all boutique partners.
• You allocate work among tailors and use your talent-mapping skills to guarantee outstanding adjustments. You deliver clear, precise methods to ensure deadlines are respected, particularly during peak activity.
• You actively monitor the quality of the RTW garments and alert relevant stakeholders in case of non-compliant pieces or finishes, ensuring the preservation of CHANEL’s quality standards. 
• You manage supplies orders, inventory and the maintenance of the Atelier equipment.
• You foster a spirit of collaboration within the Atelier team, the boutique team and external partners.
• You proactively engage with CHANEL&moi teams locally and across Europe, proposing ideas to elevate the CHANEL tailoring experience
• With a degree in sewing or alterations, you have proven experience in tailoring and team management, ideally in the luxury environment.
• As an expert in tailoring, you enjoy passing on your savoir-faire and inspire those around you.
• You demonstrate exemplary rigor, a continuous pursuit of perfection, and a profound dedication to service.
• You are passionate about Fashion and Luxury.
• You are fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a strong advantage.
