The Environmental Specialist supports Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye regional teams in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and advancing company-wide carbon reduction initiatives.


This role focuses on data analysis, program implementation, and technical guidance to help regions meet emissions targets, comply with reporting requirements, and integrate low-carbon solutions into operations.


Job Description:


  • Provide direct support to regional teams in developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies


  • Participating in environmental action planning together with the SQE Director


  • Collect, analyse, and validate environmental data across regions and operations


  • Support Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions tracking and reporting


  • Assist regions in identifying emissions reduction opportunities related to fuel consumption, logistics, and processes


  • Assist regions in identifying waste reduction and recycling opportunities related to logistics and processes


  • Monitor progress against carbon reduction targets and prepare performance reports


  • Support renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electrification projects


  • Provide training and technical assistance to regional teams on carbon accounting and reduction practices


  • Participate in internal and external audits


  • Prioritize environmental performance improvement based on data analysis


  • Use continuous improvement methodologies to investigate non-conformances and determine root cause, identify corrective actions, and drive actions to closure


  • Participate in creating environmental training for employees


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field


  • Experience with greenhouse gas accounting, carbon management, or sustainability programs


  • Working knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies


  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing and interpreting emissions data


  • Ability to collaborate across regions and functions in a matrixed organization


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Working Conditions:


  • Primarily office-based with collaboration across regional teams


  • Occasional travel to regional sites as needed.
