The Solutions Architect will architect, design, and communicate a system's high-level structural and behavioural aspects to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs in alignment with corporate IT standards and architecture guiding principles. This necessitates engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects by taking full responsibility for the solution architecture.

In this role, you will:

• Develop optimal, fit-for-purpose, and aligned IT architecture solutions that meet customer requirements. Ensure architecture is robust, appropriate, and high-quality, conforming to corporate IT standards and roadmaps. Take accountability for the end-to-end architecture, including architecture and technology decisions.
• Develop Enterprise Architecture standards and guidelines in the information, application, and technology domains. Work closely with Manager Enterprise Architecture and other peer architects in the development of technology advancements and adaptation of new technologies and patterns.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, identify and evaluate relevant technologies and tools, and showcase business value by executing Proof of Concepts by engaging relevant IT teams.
• Establish policy, guidelines, and strategy for selecting system components and their designs. Assess solution designs to ensure they effectively use architectural patterns and adhere to the guidelines. Promote the reuse of solutions, platforms, and services. Contribute to the enterprise architecture repository.
• Guide, mentor, and motivate the development team members in adopting good engineering practices, tools, and techniques throughout the development process. In addition, advise and support team members in overcoming technical challenges by providing expert consultancy and coaching.
• Conduct architecture reviews of vendor products as part of the selection process and other critical production applications with Software Engineering development teams. Provide architecture recommendations for the short and long-term improvement of applications.
• Develop logical infrastructure solutions in alignment with the technology standards. Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure that the physical infrastructure designed meets project requirements. Work together, oversee, and govern the development to ensure the development team's design and implementation align with the proposed architecture definition. Work closely with the quality engineering team to ensure that the final solution meets the agreed non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Manager Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment of information, application, and technology architecture to the overall architecture principles, framework, and guidelines.
• Own, manage, and maintain the architecture roadmap and runways of small?to medium-sized initiatives, products, environments, and/or platforms. Act as a product owner and be accountable for proactively identifying, prioritizing, and overseeing the development of technical enablers, technical debts, quality improvements, and application modernization activities.
• Drive architecture decisions and be accountable for their implications regarding solution costs, delivery schedules, application complexity, technical debt, and overall solution performance.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Information Technology.
• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology or relevant.
• Minimum 5+ years in application development as software engineer – with proven experience of developing, promoting and maintaining production enterprise grade applications.
• Minimum 1 year experience in architecting application.
• Certification in TOGAF, GenAI, AWS/Azure Architect, SAFe for Architects, Cybersecurity.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to translate business requirements into measurable technical Non-Functional Requirements and provide solutions.
• Demonstrate full stack application design and architecture – both inhouse build and vendor product implementation.
• Familiarity with modelling standards like ArchiMate, UML, and C4 models.
• Understanding of standard industry practices such as 6R, Architecture reusable patterns, Reference architecture, Governance practices.
• Strong understanding of cyber security architecture.
• Hands-on proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, and scripting languages.
• Integration & API Management: REST, GraphQL, and event-driven systems.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), open-source frameworks, and low-code platforms.
• Exposure to Data modelling, Big Data, BI, data warehouses, observability, automation, and container orchestration.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native applications.
