Role Overview


The Account Manager will play a key role in supporting APCO’s consumer-sector clients, including F&B, FMCG, retail, and consumer products brands. Based in APCO’s Dubai office, the role is responsible for managing day-to-day client relationships, executing integrated communications and PR programmes, and ensuring high-quality delivery across accounts. The Account Manager will work closely with senior team members while supervising junior staff to deliver effective, insight-led campaigns.


Key Responsibilities


Client & Account Management


  • Manage day-to-day client relationships, acting as a reliable and responsive point of contact.
  • Nurture strong working relationships with clients and partner agencies, ensuring collaboration and alignment.
  • Support senior team members in maintaining overall account performance and client satisfaction.

Campaign Planning & Execution


  • Contribute to the development of PR and communications plans, proposals, and presentations tailored to consumer-sector clients.
  • Participate in client planning sessions and presentations where appropriate.
  • Execute client programmes and projects, ensuring activities align with approved strategies and timelines.
  • Monitor project status, manage deliverables, and ensure on-time and on-budget completion.

Team Leadership & Supervision


  • Supervise and support junior team members on the day-to-day running of accounts.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure client requests are handled efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide guidance and quality control on junior team outputs.

Media & Communications


  • Build and maintain effective relationships with traditional and digital media relevant to F&B, FMCG, retail, and consumer brands.
  • Support media outreach, press materials development, and campaign amplification across appropriate channels.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of how traditional, digital, and social media channels work together in consumer campaigns.

Reporting & Administration


  • Assist with and oversee project administration, including contract setup and maintenance.
  • Produce accurate and timely client reports (monthly, quarterly, annual), ensuring a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Track and evaluate campaign performance, extracting insights where possible.

Required Skills & Competencies


  • Solid understanding of PR, communications, and campaign planning, ideally within consumer-focused sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional, digital, and social media channels.
  • Ability to build and manage media relationships in a structured and credible manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interpret market and consumer insights and apply them effectively to campaigns.
  • Resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Education & Experience


  • 3+ years of relevant experience in PR, communications, or integrated marketing, preferably with exposure to F&B, FMCG, retail, or consumer products clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
