Job Summary
The Steel Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment within the steel production facility. This role ensures minimal downtime, optimizes equipment performance, and enforces safety and compliance standards while leading a team of mechanical technicians.
Job Responsibilities 1 Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance of steel production equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment efficiency.
Develop and oversee maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Enforce safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and adherence to industry regulations.
Ensure rapid response to mechanical failures to minimize production interruptions.
Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
Lead, train, and mentor mechanical maintenance technicians to enhance skills and work efficiency.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to align maintenance activities with operational goals.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and compliance reports.
Implement best practices in maintenance, suggest process improvements, and support equipment upgrades.
Job Responsibilities 2 Additional Responsibilities 3 Job Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of steel production machinery, including rolling mills, furnaces, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical failures efficiently.
In-depth knowledge of workplace safety standards and mechanical maintenance regulations.
Strong ability to manage maintenance teams, delegate tasks, and ensure operational efficiency.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience Minimum 3 years working experience, 2 years relevant working experience, 1 year GCC experience is a plus
