Job Details

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, statutory compliance, and timely reporting. The role supports cash flow management, revenue integrity, and informed decision-making within a mature automotive retail business in Dubai, UAE.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Leadership & Management Partnership

  • Work directly with the Managing Director on financial planning, performance review, and decision support
  • Act as a financial business partner, providing insights, recommendations, and solutions
  • Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Translate financial performance, ratios, and trends into clear management actions

Financial Reporting & Closing

  • Own the monthly financial close (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and decision-ready
  • Be hands-on when needed in reconciliations, closing issues, and data review
  • Support audits and year-end reporting

Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital

  • Own cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Actively manage receivables, payables, and inventory cash exposure
  • Monitor bank balances and manage banking relationships and facilities
  • Oversee payments, treasury controls, and cash discipline

Revenue, Receivables & Operational Finance

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition across sales, services, and parts
  • Monitor customer balances, credit exposure, and collections
  • Oversee vendor payments, payroll review, and key operational finance activities
  • Step in operationally where required in a lean finance team

Budgeting, Cost Control & Performance Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
  • Track performance vs budget and explain variances
  • Analyze overheads, margins, and financial ratios
  • Recommend cost control and performance improvement actions

Inventory & Commercial Performance

  • Monitor inventory financial health and stock performance
  • Identify slow-moving or non-performing items and propose actions
  • Support pricing, margin, and profitability analysis

Controls, Compliance & Processes

  • Set and enforce financial controls, policies, and approval frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and statutory requirements
  • Strengthen processes, reduce leakages, and improve financial discipline

Systems & Team

  • Ensure effective use of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Improve data quality and reporting structures
  • Manage and develop the accounting team while remaining hands-on


Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; a Master’s degree in a relevant field is a distinct advantage.
  • 8 to 12 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in roles such as Chief Accountant, or Finance Manager.
  • Solid UAE-based experience is essential, preferably within the automotive retail, trading, or related commercial sectors.
  • Deep understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
  • Full professional fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems and advanced accounting software.
  • Candidates with a background in Retail or B2B environments (specifically involving complex inventory management) will be prioritized.
