Job Purpose:
To oversee the planned maintenance system and support vessels / fleet groups on activities relating to the PMS and to ensure all planned maintenance tasks are handled efficiently in accordance with internal requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Planned Maintenance System
- Implementing PMS onboard and in the office.
- Training ships and office staff on PMS.
- Liaising with the fleet / HSEQ Superintendents for changes / improvements to the system.
- Ensuring the details of the machinery along with scheduled jobs, spares etc. are updated using the vessels’ technical manuals as a reference, whenever new vessels are added to the fleet.
- Updating PMS with class related information for class approvals.
- Updating the PMS with required spares / jobs based on the request from vessels.
- Carrying out or arranging on-board training of ship staff as required from time to time.
- Preparing training modules / manuals for the ship staff.
- Continually improving the system with a view to increasing user friendliness & efficiency.
- Check the job descriptions for appropriate application to the vessel and job. Check for any error in the description.
- Assisting fleet groups and Managers to prepare reports, inventories and others related to the PMS as required.
- Checking and recommending software improvement of the system to IT.
- Assisting in the compilation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly technical statistics.
- Generating PMS report and other analytical reports / dashboards related to fleet performance.
Document Control
- To ensure all the planned maintenance related documentation and certifications are updated and maintained.
Administration and Support Services
- Monitor compilation of information for relevant training modules / manuals to ensure updated information for on-board training.
- Provide support relating to preparing Reports and budget information, as and when required.
- Support and monitor other departments’ issues related to day-to-day operational activities.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions, so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Related Assignments
- Perform any other duties, which the Line Manager may require to be carried out.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
- Ensure all relevant health, safety, environment and quality procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to, so that the safety of employees, quality of products / services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
- 4-6 years experience in the maritime industry (sea or shore).
- Good knowledge of office-based computer software and Microsoft applications, ship equipment and planned maintenance systems.
