The project:
Mace is providing project management services on a large mixed-use regeneration development in Abu Dhabi. The site will have commercial work places and retail units along with public realm.
You’ll be responsible for:
Leads feasibility studies, procurement strategy advice, contract selection, and preparation of detailed procurement reports.
Oversees estimating and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting final cost plans using value management techniques.
Manages the full procurement cycle including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
Supervises preparation and execution of contract documents, warranties, bonds, licences, and provides advice on contract administration.
Ensures effective cost control, valuation of works, monthly post‑contract reporting, and identification of costs related to design changes and construction activities.
Evaluates contractor claims for delays and additional costs, and advises on certificates for making good defects, practical completion, and final account agreement.
Leads and develops a team of Cost Consultants, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and driving improvements in systems and processes.
Manages senior stakeholders, builds strong internal/external relationships, implements continuous improvement initiatives, and supports net‑zero carbon transition goals.
You’ll need to have:
Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Commercial and financial acumen.
Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
