Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Site Turnover Engineer as part of our Engineering team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at Habshan Site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role


The Turnover Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the system/subsystem turnover from Construction to Commissioning, ensuring all mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and documentation requirements are met in line with ADNOC Gas standards, project procedures, and EPCM best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the Turnover Strategy, Plans, and Procedures in coordination with Construction, Commissioning, and Client teams.
  • Define system and subsystem boundaries aligned with commissioning philosophy.
  • Coordinate Mechanical Completion (MC) activities and ensure readiness for RFSU / Commissioning.
  • Manage Turnover Dossiers, including:
    • MC certificates
    • Punch lists (A/B/C categories)
    • Test records and inspection reports
    • As-built drawings and vendor documentation
  • Monitor and track turnover progress, KPIs, and milestones against the project schedule.
  • Interface daily with Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, Engineering, and ADNOC Gas representatives.
  • Ensure punch items are correctly categorized, tracked, and closed prior to system handover.
  • Verify compliance with ADNOC Gas specifications, HSE requirements, and EPCM procedures.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, inspections, and handover meetings.
  • Support Commissioning team during energization, testing, and start-up phases.
  • Maintain accurate turnover status reports and dashboards for project management.

Expected:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in Turnover / Mechanical Completion / Commissioning interface roles.
  • Strong experience on onshore gas processing facilities (preferred ADNOC / Middle East projects).
  • Solid understanding of:
    • MC & Commissioning workflows
    • Systemization and subsystem handover
    • Punch management systems (e.g., WinPCS, ICAPS, ProCoSys or similar)

Skills & Competencies


  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong knowledge of EPCM execution methodology
  • High attention to detail and documentation control
  • Ability to work under schedule pressure in site conditions
  • Familiar with ADNOC Gas standards and approval processes (highly preferred)

HSE & Compliance


  • Full adherence to ADNOC HSE policies, life-saving rules, and project safety requirements.
  • Proactive participation in safety walks, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
