Organization Unit Purpose
Transaction Banking (TB) provides a diverse range of products and services to customers of C&IB. The customers in these market segments are demanding and expect a significant level of expertise from the business.
The TB Product Unit has been setup to strategically drive Cash and Trade business to achieve bank’s goals while delivering on customers’ requirements. The unit will drive global Cash and Trade strategy for the Emirates NBD Group. The main responsibilities of the unit would be portfolio analysis for all products under the Transaction banking vertical. Drive cross sell of TB products to C&IB customers through TB Sales team and WB RM teams. Knowledge/ Domain expertise will be with the team members. The unit will own identifying and mitigating risks in new and existing products. Develop and run product programmes which are aligned with the Emirates NBD strategy. Design products and services in line with the customers’ needs and market developments. Identify product gaps for further development on existing and new products. Drive product profitability and usage across C&IB customers. Own the pricing policy and discounts/ waiver policy for Transaction banking products. Own and direct the entire C&IB channels strategy for Emirates NBD and its branches. The unit members will also take ownership of marketing material, collateral, industry events & awards
Job Purpose
The product manager, Documentary Trade Products, will develop, drive, and implement strategic initiatives for the identified products within the Trade Finance domain, encompassing both physical and electronic offerings across regions. This role is crucial in aligning product strategies with the group's vision and mission, ensuring comprehensive pan-geography coverage and enterprise-level integration.
The purpose of the Product manager – Documentary Trade Products is to own the full end-to-end process for products within the Trade Finance domain. As a recognized subject matter expert, the job holder will provide strategic direction and leadership. Responsibilities include ensuring that updated Product Programs are available for identified products and driving cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Solutioning teams to achieve targeted revenue goals.
The job holder will demonstrate expertise and drive interests of the product in cross functional strategic projects for the bank, while successfully collaborating with various internal stakeholders. The incumbent is expected to be a digital champion in trade finance, playing a crucial role in driving the digital transformation of customer’s transactional journey and trade finance processes.
Additionally, the role involves leading the deal and award participation efforts for the assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with the overall group strategy. The job holder will play a pivotal role in aligning product strategies with the company's vision, mission, and strategic objectives, fostering enterprise-wide coherence and driving success across diverse geographical regions.

Product Revenue
- Monitor product performance: Revenue, Volume, and margin against current - year budget and future year forecasts.
- Develop Tactical and strategic business plans for commercialization, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and mission, and incorporating global market awareness.
New Products
- Conduct thorough industry, competitive, and product research to identify upcoming trends and cutting-edge technologies.
- Develop clear business cases for new methods, products, channels, and enhancements that are globally relevant.
- Undertake marketing activities for new product launches and enhancements, ensuring a pan-geography approach.
Product programmes
- Develop business requirements to build systems and procedures that support product development and ongoing enhancements.
- Oversee internal and external product development activities to ensure cross-functional alignment and efficiency, incorporating the latest happenings across geographies.
Marketing
- Analyze competitive situations and develop benchmarking prices and product distribution recommendations with a global perspective.
- Serve as a product expert and support sales, solutioning, and RM teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy and market awareness.
Risk Mitigation/ Trade Compliance
- Provide training sessions on new product development and enhancements for internal stakeholders, ensuring market awareness and alignment with cross-functional goals.
- Own the Credit Standard for specific products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with the company’s mission.
- Drive understanding and implementation of Trade based Money laundering controls and measures.
- Review and improve Trade Finance transaction monitoring processes w.r.t sanctions program, Dual Goods Usage, Proliferation Financing etc.
Product Pricing Strategy
- Deep understanding of the Pricing lifecycle for your products: Origination, application, collection, reconciliation etc.
- Negotiate pricing and product agreements with corporate clients, ensuring competitive advantage and alignment with global market trends.
- Help negotiate marketing agreements and pricing with various third-party vendors to support the company’s strategic initiatives and pan-geography presence.
Digital Trade
- In depth knowledge of applications of next gen technologies impacting Trade Finance
- Drive the adoption of new age technologies such Gen AI/ Agentic AI, Machine learning, MLETR based Digital Native Documents, API banking etc.
- Create roadmap and blueprints for implementing Trade Digitization projects
- Engage with fintech and technology players and be up-to-date with latest trends and offerings in the digital Trade Finance space
- Innovate and design UI/UX features to enhance customer experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, master’s degree (preferable)
Experiences
- 10+ years of banking industry experience with Trade experience for the last 8 years. Should have a good understanding of Trade Operations
Knowledge & Skills
- ICC Rules such as UCP 600, URDG, ISP, ISDGP, ISBP, URR and ability to develop product strategy/ ies.
- Up to date with global best practices and new age technologies, such as MLETR, AI/ML, APIs etc., relevant to Trade Finance domain
Behavioral Competencies
- Work closely with Sales/Solutioning team, Trade Ops, Marketing, Legal, Platform, IT Sec, Ops Risk and compliance teams.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in implementing strategic Trade Finance and cross functional projects
