Carries out standard and specialized procedures and tests on human gametes and embryos, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient care in line with international best practices and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) requirements.



Responsibilities:
  • Performs embryo biopsy and tubing for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A, PGT-M, PGT-SR).
  • Performs blastocyst culture, grading, and selection.
  • Conducts the Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
  • Assesses fertilisation process and embryo development, including cleavage and blastocyst stages.
  • Conducts embryo preparation and selection before embryo transfer.
  • Performs cryopreservation of human semen and testicular tissues.
  • Conducts embryo vitrification and thawing procedures.
  • Carries out and collects oocytes from follicular fluid.
  • Conducts semen examination and preparation for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), ICSI, and Conventional In-vitro Fertilisation (CIVF).
  • Performs seminal fluid analysis.
  • Processes samples collected from Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE), Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA), and Microscopic Testicular Sperm Extraction (Micro-TESE).
  • Uses electronic witnessing systems (e.g., RI Witness) and ensures digital EMR traceability of all procedures.
  • Ensures that established quality assurance regulations and safety precautions are adhered to, with prescribed protective clothing always worn.
  • Carries out periodic daily preventive/corrective maintenance on instruments and equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Health Science, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science/Biology/Zoology with emphasis on Human Embryology.
  • Current license to practice in the country of origin and eligibility/licensure with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Embryologist.
  • Knowledge of Trophectoderm Biopsy and Tubing techniques, with application in Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT).
  • Knowledge of blastocyst culture and grading, including embryo selection criteria.
  • Skills in Oocyte Freezing and cryopreservation techniques.
  • Skills in using Embryoscope and time-lapse imaging systems.
  • Skills in performing advanced micromanipulation procedures, including ICSI and embryo biopsy.
  • Skills in using electronic witnessing systems (e.g., RI Witness) and ensuring EMR traceability.
  • Ability to perform embryo vitrification and thawing with high survival outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with DHA licensing requirements and international laboratory standards.
  • Ability to work under sterile, high-precision conditions and manage multiple complex procedures independently.
