Responsibilities:
Medication Safety, Dispensing & Regulatory Compliance
- Performs all duties strictly under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assists in dispensing medications in accordance with approved prescriptions and established pharmacy procedures.
- Shall NOT dispense Narcotics, Controlled (CD), or Semi-Controlled (SCD) medications under any circumstances.
- Retrieves, counts, labels, and packages medications accurately prior to pharmacist verification.
- Prepares dispensed medications for final pharmacist review and patient release.
- Immediately escalate medication discrepancies, prescription errors, or safety concerns to the supervising pharmacist.
- Maintain proper segregation, storage, and handling of restricted medications.
- Ensure compliance with DHA regulations and internal pharmacy policies at all times.
Prescription Processing & Medication Preparation
- Receives and organize prescriptions for pharmacist clinical review.
- Verifies completeness of prescription information prior to processing.
- Assists in selecting correct medication, strength, dosage form, and quantity as prescribed.
- Ensures labeling accuracy before final pharmacist validation.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Assists in receiving, checking, and organizing pharmaceutical stock.
- Monitors expiry dates and implement First Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) stock rotation.
- Ensures medications are stored according to temperature, humidity, and segregation requirements.
- Participates in periodic stock counts and reconciliation activities.
- Reports shortages, discrepancies, damaged stock, or near-expiry items promptly.
Patient Service Support
- Greets patients professionally and provide front-counter assistance.
- Verifies and documents patient demographic information accurately.
- Refers all clinical inquiries, medication counseling requests, and therapeutic questions to the licensed pharmacist.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assists with insurance documentation and claims processing under supervision.
- Supports accurate record keeping and filing.
- Operates POS systems and process payments under pharmacist oversight where applicable.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Valid DHA Pharmacy Trainee permit
