About the Role
We are looking for a commercially strong Purchase Manager who goes beyond processing purchase requests. In our business model, Sales drives demand based on customer and project requirements, and the Purchase Manager plays a strategic role in validating forecasts, optimizing procurement strategies, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.
This role requires strong knowledge of shipping, delivery terms, international trade compliance, and international payment mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecast Validation
- Collaborate with Sales to review, challenge, and validate demand forecasts.
- Convert sales projections into structured procurement plans.
- Align purchase planning with Finance and Operations to manage cash flow and delivery timelines.
Strategic Purchasing & Commercial Negotiation
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies optimizing cost, quality, and lead time.
- Prepare and review purchase orders and supplier contracts with clear understanding of Incoterms and delivery terms.
- Negotiate pricing, shipping terms, and international payment terms (LC, Bank Guarantee, Documentary Collection).
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across regions.
- Monitor market trends, supplier capacity, and global supply chain developments.
Operations & Compliance
- Track and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, import/export documentation, and regional requirements.
- Monitor inventory KPIs (turnover, aging, stock coverage).
- Utilize ERP systems (D365, SAP, Oracle or similar) for procurement tracking and reporting.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor procurement team members.
- Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–7 years of procurement experience in engineering, MEP, or scientific trading/distribution businesses.
- Mandatory: GCC procurement experience.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international logistics.
- Clear knowledge of international payment mechanisms: Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantee (BG), and Documentary Collection.
- Proven contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (D365, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
