We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to provide support and assistance to the Resident Engineer and oversee processes associated with the construction stages of the project.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day structural engineering support on site during construction stages, working closely with the Resident Engineer, Project Manager, and Contractor. 
• Review and interpret structural drawings, specifications, reports, and design documentation for constructability and compliance. 
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely and technically robust manner
• Undertake structural inspections and report on material quality, workmanship, and construction defects, including recommendations for remedial works. 
• Review engineering designs and provide professional input on their suitability for site conditions, advising on required changes during the engineering and construction phases. 
• Review contractor submittals, method statements, and shop drawings; issue consolidated comments and verify close‑out of responses. 
• Review materials and propose technically sound alternatives or recommendations where appropriate. 
• Apply sound engineering principles and demonstrate the ability to design and assess structures using common building materials. 
• Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures are followed throughout project execution. 
• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure well‑controlled, accurate, and coordinated documentation. 
• Attend site meetings, technical workshops, and progress meetings, providing clear technical input and advice. 
• Proactively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver balanced, best‑value solutions that meet client requirements. 
• Assist Project Managers in monitoring site progress and driving timely delivery of works. 
• Review and assess variations and change requests, providing technical input and recommendations. 
• Support the definition and management of project scope, ensuring changes are documented and aligned with client expectations. 
• Provide technical direction to site teams as requested by the Resident Engineer or Project Management team. 
• Provide mentoring and guidance to graduate engineers and junior staff. 
• Ensure junior team members adhere to delivery standards, procedures, and quality expectations. 
• Prepare clear, accurate technical reports, inspection records, and site documentation. 
• Communicate progress, risks, and issues related to delegated site responsibilities in a timely manner to support overall project delivery. 
• Deliver assigned site responsibilities within allocated budgets and agreed scope. 
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, participating in safety observations and ensuring safe engineering practices on site. 
• Support client relationships through professional conduct, responsive communication, and high‑quality delivery. 
• Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by the Line Manager, Resident Engineer, or Project Manager.
