Procedure Design & Development
- Perform IFPD activities in the Emirates FIR for designing, amending, reviewing, and validating RNAV 1 routes, PBN, ILS, and conventional procedures.
- Design holding patterns, Prohibited, Danger, and Restricted (PDR) areas.
- Prepare routing designators, 5LNC, and supporting documentation for airspace design submissions
Airspace, Obstacle, & Terrain Analysis
Airspace Planning
- Conduct studies and evaluations in PANS-OPS related matters.
- Assist in analysing airspace data through outputs of fast-simulation and airspace modelling reports.
- Help maintain accurate documentation of airspace plans, and coordination efforts.
- Conduct safety assessments for the implantation of new ATS routes and/or new airspace design.
- Utilise the outputs of airspace modelling & simulation tools to analyse the effectiveness of airspace design and system performance.
Instrument Flight Procedure Design
- Ensuring that Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre complies with the design criteria requirements described in national regulations.
- Ensure all documentation relating to IFP Design is kept up to date and amended in accordance to regulations.
- Assist and participate in internal and GCAAaudit’s undertaken for the purpose of Instrument Flight Procedure Design certification.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC), and UAE aviation stakeholders to continuously enhance the safety and efficiency of the airspace.
- Engage with external stakeholder for the IFP design matters and connectivity of the Emirates FIR with neighbouring FIRs.
- Converse with Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) to manage promulgation of the IFP designs, support charting in electronic format.
- Participate in active civil-military coordination to enhance and support matters of Flexible Use of Airspace (FUA), and Airspace Management Cell (AMC) operations.
Reporting
- Support Airspace Management Section in coordinating airspace matters and day-to-day duties.
- Support airspace enhancement studies and projects.
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to airspace management activities and ensuring compliance with established procedures
- Undergo quality control and a regular review of information exchanged with GCAA BUs and external airspace stakeholders
