Your impact
Jacobs is looking for Infrastructure Design Package Manger to lead the detailed design of high‑speed rail infrastructure and systems for major projects based from our office in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on producing and reviewing discipline specific designs that meet stringent performance, safety, and interoperability requirements for speeds typically above 250 km/h. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and authorities to ensure designs are technically robust, constructible, and aligned with project timelines
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee design for wet and dry utility networks (water, sewerage, irrigation, stormwater, electrical, telecom, gas).
- Lead coordination with utility authorities for NOCs, approvals, and design compliance.
- Ensure early identification of utility conflicts impacting civil, tunnel, road, or station works.
- Review utility diversion options, technical solutions, and phasing strategies.
- Supervise preparation of utility layouts, cross‑sections, clash resolutions, and protection designs.
- Ensure integration with alignment, structures, drainage, and station packages.
- Identify design risks, constraints, and potential design optimizations, escalating issues to the Design Delivery Director as needed.
- Coordinate with Project Controls to align programme, resources, and deliverables.
- Manage design risks, constraints, and required permits and NOCs.
- Package Managers are responsible to their delivery. This includes responsibility of DSR, schedule, LOE, proper monitoring and reporting.
- Manage structural design of viaducts, long‑span bridges, underpasses, and cut‑and‑cover tunnels.
- Coordinate with geotechnical, drainage, alignment, utilities, and building interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with structural codes, seismic requirements, and HSR load criteria.
- Oversee FEM modelling, structural analyses, reinforcement detailing, and specification development.
- Review shop drawings, constructability inputs, and staging requirements.
- Manage risks associated with foundations, ground movement, and construction interface.
- Support constructability reviews and optimization of designs
- Support QA/QC reviews, verification, validation, and approval design deliverables.
- Package Managers are responsible to their delivery. This includes responsibility of DSR, schedule, LOE, proper monitoring and reporting.
Here's what you'll need
- BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 15 years experience, preferably at least 3 years in Abu Dhabi for the same role.
- Experience into design of utility diversions, protection, and interface works required across all project sections.
- Experience into leading design of roads, TTMs
