Lab Assistant and Administrative support shall be capable of performing the following duties: • Monitor the high-pressure cylinders of the carrier Gas Supply System to the Laboratory ensuring that there is a continuous gas supply to various analytical instruments • Ensure that the high-pressure sampling cylinders in use are cleaned and nitrogen pressure tested, to identify leaking components, prior to sample collection. • Conduct leak check for gas cylinders before sampling and ensure proper containers with correct labelling and classification. • Conduct house-keeping activities in the working area as well as the whole laboratory, in addition to Chemical and Glassware Stores and any related apparatus after analysis on a regular basis. Ensure to keep the working area in a clean and tidy condition. • Assist Lab Tech/Sr. Lab Tech for any analysis, preparative work/Chemical and Glassware. Make the necessary update related to the inventory and incoming new materials from the warehouse. • Collect all types of gas / liquid / solid samples from the plant as per the daily schedule and in conformity with the procedures related to sampling, safe handling of chemicals and compressed gas cylinders. • Support Shift staff with Dew point and dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement in the field. • Assist the management with inventory details for lab chemicals, glassware and equipment spares. • Monitor the sampling point’s condition, pressure gauges, hoses and operating valves. Prepare a report specifying any necessary maintenance. • Enter waste disposal quantity in the Register and inform the Lab Shift in-charge about the status of the Waste Disposal Container. • Assist in preparing data entry registers and filing paper documents from lab reports, certificates, forms, exit/entry gate pass, to waste disposal record etc.  

Skills

Minimum Qualification and Experience • Diploma or Secondary School Certificate in the relevant field with minimum 4 or more years of relevant experience in performing routine laboratory work, within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry. • Knowledge in general laboratory duties such as helping in sample collection, maintenance, cleaning sampling containers and moving of heavy equipment etc. • Excellent at sampling all types of process Gases & NGL samples, Process waters/ Boiler waters/Effluent samples. • Excellent verbal and writing skills. • Familiar with basic rules of plants and sampling safety with the knowledge of using appropriate PPEs.
