Job Description
What You Will Drive
- Act as the Emergency Response Lead within the Fast Response Crew, ensuring rapid mobilization for assessment, containment, and site security within tier‑based SLA timeframes.
- Execute immediate stabilization measures at the site, including flow diversion, temporary pumping, and ensuring area safety by isolating power sources and ventilating hazardous gases.
- Conduct thorough inspections to determine damage condition and severity, using specialized tools such as CCTV pipeline cameras, Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT), ultrasonic testing, and thermography.
- Plan and oversee dewatering and excavation activities required to access and inspect buried infrastructure or submerged assets.
- Coordinate logistics and expedited mobilization of major mechanical and electrical components, as well as heavy equipment including cranes, scaffolding, and high‑capacity dewatering systems.
- Secure all required Permits to Work (PTW) and No Objection Certificates (NOCs), ensuring strict compliance with facility protocols and international safety standards.
- Supervise the dismantling and replacement/repair of pumps (submersible and dry‑well), blowers, gearboxes, valves, and penstocks.
- Oversee removal of damaged concrete and piping, manage excavation and formwork, and supervise concrete pouring and installation of new GRP, HDPE, or ductile iron pipelines.
- Supervise isolation and replacement of damaged electrical panels, sensors, and cabling systems.
- Oversee dry testing and wet commissioning of restored assets to ensure proper functionality and operational integrity.
- Manage site cleaning and demobilization of temporary equipment after service restoration is confirmed.
- Compile and submit complete intervention reports - including before/after photo documentation and material manifests - within required project timelines.
Qualifications
You're a Great Fit if You Have
- BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline).
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in planning and executing corrective maintenance of MEICA systems within sewage treatment plants, water/wastewater facilities, or heavy industrial environments.
- Holders of OHSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognized safety training) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the overhaul and replacement of high‑capacity pumps and aeration blowers, specifically within sewage treatment environments.
- Working knowledge of concrete repair, excavation safety/shoring, and pipeline jointing techniques (GRP, HDPE, uPVC, and Ductile Iron).
- Working knowledge of major repairs and replacement of LV/MV motors, switchgear, and Motor Control Centers (MCCs).
- Advanced proficiency in interpreting CCTV, NDT, and thermographic inspection data to evaluate asset integrity.
- Proven ability to supervise complex logistics (e.g., mobile cranes, high‑capacity dewatering systems) and manage subcontractors under tight deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Confined Space Entry, and Risk Assessment procedures in emergency contexts.
- Proven track record in supervising multidisciplinary crews during high‑pressure emergency events requiring immediate mobilization and complex logistical coordination.
- Demonstrated expert‑level adherence to industry best practices and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) requirements in hazardous or unstable environments.
- Must hold a valid UAE driving license.
