Job Description
AECOM are currently hiring an Associate Architect, to join our Architecture + Interiors practice, based in Dubai. The Associate Architect is responsible for integrating computational methods, algorithmic design, and digital technologies into architectural projects. This role will support our design teams by developing parametric models, automation workflows, and performance-driven design solutions that enhance creativity, efficiency, and project delivery.
The Associate Architect works closely with our sector leads, architects, engineers, and digital specialists to translate design intent into computational frameworks and optimize design outcomes through data-driven processes.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate internal design teams and external specialist consultants to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Make informed aesthetic design direction, material selection and technical decisions to resolve design interfaces and interdisciplinary challenges.
- Oversee project execution to ensure alignment with the Design Brief, company standards, industry guidelines, codes, interdisciplinary requirements and client expectations.
- Provide key design input during early project phases and maintain design leadership throughout all stages.
- Develop custom scripts, plugins, or tools to improve design productivity.
- Automate repetitive modeling and documentation tasks.
- Support BIM and digital design processes, including integration with Revit, Rhino, and other digital platforms.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate generative design, optimization, and automation into architectural workflows.
- Produce parametric models for façade systems, spatial layouts, environmental analysis, and complex geometries.
- Assist in the exploration of design options through data-driven iterations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years post-undergraduate experience.
- Bachelors in Architecture or Master in Architecture, or equivalent.
- RIBA Part 2 equivalent (RIBA, AIA or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Rhino + Grasshopper.
- Experience with Revit.
- Programming knowledge in Python, C#, or similar scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of parametric modeling, generative design, and digital fabrication workflows.
