The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing and analysing financial and management accounts, product costing, and performance reports to support strategic decision-making. The role involves driving accuracy in financial reporting, cost control, and profitability analysis while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will combine strong bookkeeping, analytical and costing skills with a strategic mindset and experience in ERP-based environments such as SAP and Odoo.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare daily bookkeeping for Dubai entity as well as monthly and quarterly management accounts for Dubai and Sudan entities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with IFRS and internal reporting policies.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and present insights to management.
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards, performance KPIs, and executive summaries for leadership review.
  • Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, integrating operational and financial data.

Costing & Profitability

  • Lead product costing, BOM analysis, and cost of goods manufactured (COGM) reporting.
  • Establish and periodically update standard costs for materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Perform contribution margin and profitability analysis across business units or product lines.
  • Partner with production, procurement, and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

Financial Control & Audit

  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger postings, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
  • Support internal and external audits through timely reconciliations and compliance documentation.
  • Implement strong internal control processes for inventory valuation and cost tracking.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Coordinate annual budget preparation and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Monitor and report on CAPEX and OPEX performance, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support management in financial modelling, pricing decisions, and investment appraisals.

Systems & Automation

  • Utilize SAP/Odoo and Power BI for real-time reporting, data visualization, and decision support.
  • Participate in ERP enhancements or implementations, ensuring integration of costing and management reporting modules.





Skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: CMA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years in accounting, costing, and management reporting within manufacturing, trading, or service sectors.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP, Power BI, and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, VAT, and corporate financial regulations.
  • Proven experience in cost control, variance analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative and cross-functional communicator.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Flexibility to travel to Sudan a few times a year for a few weeks at a time.
  • Manage companies in Dubai as well as Sudan
