JOB TITLE: SUPERINTENDENT - CONSTRUCTION (LIFTING)
 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


·Preparation of the Lifting plans, Manpower, and equipment forecasts. Execute and manage all lifting and Hauling Operations. Provide leadership and guidance to site team and subcontractors for safe lifting operations. Responsible for the day-to-day cranes and lifting activities at site.


·Ensure that Lifting activities at site are planned, scheduled, executed with highest regard for personal safety and environment excellence.


·Capable to develop lift and haul schedules at site and assist wide optimization and utilization of lifting resources according to site priorities.


·Capable to provide planning, selection of crane, lifting gear & equipment, instruction, and necessary safety precaution.


·Ensure that Lifting activities at site are planned, scheduled, executed with highest regard for personal safety and environment excellence.
Support in developing method statement and JSA’s.


·Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.


·Monitoring of project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved rigging plans and procedure.


·Responsible for the day-to-day cranes and lifting activities at site.


·Qualified person for all Load-out, Load-in, Hauling and Erection activities using lifting equipment.


·Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified by approved 3rd party and meets the regulatory frequency.


·Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and certified 3rd party.


·Conducting training of rigging personnel, VOC assessments and maintaining such records at site.


·Reviewing and approving lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies including subcontractor’s lift plan.


·Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.
 


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


·Maximum years of experience in rigging & lifting site in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors overseeing or managing project lifting and rigging operation in all stages including modular, static, rotating equipment’s as well as heavy/oversize transport operations.


·Minimum years of experience as a rigging supervisor.


·Minimum years of experience as a Lifting Superintendent.


·Must be college graduate, preferably an engineer in profession.


·Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa.


·Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.


·Good communications skill.s


·Have an extensive lifting and Rigging International Standards knowledge like ASME, OHSA and LOLER Regulations.


·Trained and competent for the task in accordance with local legal requirements whenever applicable i.e. Abu Dhabi EHSMS – EHS Code of Practice 34.0: Safe use of Lifting Equipment and Lifting Accessories.


·Having formal training by an approved third-party training institute and accredited by OPITO i.e. NPORS BV (or equivalent 3rd part training), letters from the Crane Supplier will NOT be accepted


·Able to produce work reports.


·Able to coordinate possible SIMOPS.


·Able to train and qualify riggers, rigging supervisors and crane operators.


·Must have working knowledge and interpretation skills of lifting drawing and calculations and provide guidance to subcontractors. Capable of reviewing and approving lift plans/studies, rigging & lifting procedures. Also, able to generate project lifting & rigging procedures when necessary.


·Have general knowledge in the inspection of lifting gears and equipment like overhead cranes, gantry, davit arms winches and others.
