  • AssiststheRegisteredNurseinplanning,implementingandevaluatingpatientcare.


  • Is familiar with, and understands, the Severe Care Domains ofDOH.


  • Monitors the impact of nursing care and maintains ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse regarding the status of patients in theircare.


  • Demonstrates an understanding and utilization of Evidenced-BasedHealthcare.


  • Advocates in the best interest of the patient and family at alltimes.


  • Provides education to the family regarding aspects of care asappropriate.


  • Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians/therapists withprocedures.

  • Adheres to dress code; appearance is professional, neat andclean.Maintains patient confidentiality at alltimes.

Communication
Qualifications:

8. QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



ESSENTIAL


PREFERRED



Education


  • Graduate from a recognizednursing school (minimum 2yrs)


  • ACLS (for adultpatients)


  • PALS (for pediatricpatients)



Experience


  • 1 years minimum clinical experience plus 6 months recent experience with ventilated patients (i.e. extra 6months adult ventilated patients for adult AN’s and extra 6 months pediatric ventilated patients for pediatricAN’s)


  • Long term care or rehabilitation experience



Certification and Licensure


  • Current valid registration in countryof training and/or country of last employment


  • Eligible for DOHlicensing

  • Up to date knowledge ofcurrent clinical and professionalissues


  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice


  • Competent in lifesupport


  • Able to work as an effectiveteam member
