Nurse Supervisor will:
Provide clinical guidance, direction and support for all Nurses and Caregivers in their departments and across the facility.
Ensure that all relevant clinical areas are running efficiently and safely together with the involvement of all Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing.
Ensure all clinical areas are staffed accordingly, provide supervision to all nursing personnel in the clinical areas, directs, and assists as required.
Direct the movement of nursing staff to support clinical need, in accordance with nurse’s scope, training and competence.
Perform direct clinical nursing care when required, mandating the requirement to wear NMC nursing uniform.
Conduct regular clinical rounds with nursing and other members of the inter-professional team.
Conduct regular clinical rounds talking with patients and patient bystanders being cared for within their clinical areas, to support patient experience. Action and execute patient feedback to support a positive patient experience.
Assist with the clinical supervision and education of staff, advancement of process changes, accountability and responsibility for all patient care activities and daily operations.
Carry out patient admissions, discharges, internal and external transfers as required.
Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation etc.
Promote a patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health professionals, acting, as an ambassador for the facility in clinical and medical services.
Maintain and demonstrates clinical competence using evidence-based practice, nursing knowledge, research and reflective practice in all aspects of patient care including those with complex needs.
Ensure that the Nurses are providing patient care within the facility and that it is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Establish, plan, implement and monitor KPIs that are relevant to the business and department(s).
Qualifications:
Essential: the post holder must
Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all the qualifications and experience these mandates.
Have evidenced experience in managing multiple departments and teams.
Be able to influence and implement change when necessary.
Be able to make decisions and communicate effectively.
Manage their own professional re-licensure.
Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
DESIRABLE: The post holder should have:
Evidenced experience/expertise in the clinical field in which they are employed
Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter-professional team
Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation.
