As a Senior Software Engineer for the PSS (Passenger Service System) Database Archival Platform, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance data management solutions for our client, one of the worlds leading airlines. Your primary focus will be on the architecture, development, and optimization of complex archival processes that ensure long-term data durability, regulatory compliance, and system performance at an enterprise scale. You will serve as the technical backbone for moving and optimizing massive datasets within a multi-billion dollar aviation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Database Engineering: Design and develop robust Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers. Build modular and reusable code to handle large-scale data archival and transformation.

  
  

• Archival Platform Optimization: Lead the analysis and troubleshooting of complex database issues, specifically focusing on performance bottlenecks during bulk data movements. Perform query optimization and execution plan analysis to maintain system stability.

  
  

• Data Lifecycle Management: Support data migration, transformation, and integration activities between PSS systems and archival storage. Implement Oracle partitioning and bulk collection strategies to manage data growth efficiently.

  
  

• Technical Governance: Participate in rigorous code reviews, enforcing best practices and coding standards for the database development team. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data models and operational runbooks.

  
  

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with application developers, architects, and business analysts to translate intricate business requirements into scalable, "enterprise-grade" database solutions.

  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Core Mastery: 5–8 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years of intensive Oracle PL/SQL development (versions 12c/19c or above).

  
  

• Deep Technical Toolkit: Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Partitioning, Bulk Collection, Dynamic SQL, and Analytical/Window functions.

  
  

• Performance Engineering: Proven track record in indexing strategies and Explain Plan analysis to optimize multi-table joins and high-volume transactions.

  
  

• Tools & Environment: Proficient in SQL Developer, TOAD, or SQL*Plus within Unix/Linux environments.

  
  

• Domain Exposure: Prior experience in ETL processes, data migration projects, or large-scale archival platforms is highly desirable.

  
  

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate complex data structures to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
