Job Purpose
The GSE Supervisor is responsible for organising and delivering Ground Support Equipment (GSE) support for all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities. The role ensures alignment with the requirements of Base Maintenance, Line Maintenance, other internal maintenance units, and third‑party airlines. The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of GSE procedures to enhance operational safety and quality, while ensuring full compliance with the Engineering Procedures Manual (EPM).
In this role you will:
- Organise resources to effectively deliver GSE support to Line Maintenance, Base maintenance, Overhaul Work Shops and other to customers to ensure that all aircraft & component maintenance activities are supported in professional manner.
- Organise and perform inspection of major/specialised equipment prior to allocation on aircraft. This is critical to ensure that all aircraft maintenance projects receive equipment in fully functional & serviceable condition.
- Manage equipment defects & troubleshooting tasks during aircraft maintenance activities on-site. Ensure that Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance and all other departments are backed by rapid service delivery to meet aircraft schedules in accordance to order of priority & service precedence.
- Provide on job training to junior staff in order to maximise skills and increase productivity.
- Supervise aircraft component logistics support tasks ensuring all such activities are performed safely and in accordance with outlined procedures.
- Actively participate in the aircraft crash recovery. Should be fully conversant with equipment operations, logistics and deployment procedures.
- Lead the GSE team during outstation deployments for aircraft maintenance support. This involves dedicated attention for equipment preparation, support and repacking in well organised & controlled manner to ensure efficient support delivery and management of equipment.
- Monitor & control quality of work carried out by GSE staff & ensure safety procedures are adhered to. Provide input regarding performance of staff in terms of their competencies and initiate appropriate actions.
Qualification
To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
- 10 years of schooling or equivalent formal Technical Apprenticeship Certificate in mechanical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in aircraft ground support equipment maintenance and operations.
- Knowledge of engineering practices, procedure and operation of complex aircraft tools.
- Knowledge of Aircraft component logistic and safe handling practices.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence.
- Good command of English.
