About you:

We seek to appoint an
outstanding Head
of English to lead our department and drive
excellence across our Secondary school. This is a teaching and middle
leadership role, and the successful candidate will maintain an active teaching
commitment, including the ability to deliver English to a high standard
across Secondary.

We
are looking for a candidate who:

·Is dynamic, enthusiastic, and well-qualified, holding at minimum a B.Ed.
or a B.A. with a PGCE in English, along with QTS.

·Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning,
including experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, GCSE & A Level with
strong student outcomes.

·Demonstrates the ability to balance strategic leadership with an active
teaching timetable, modelling exemplary classroom practice.

·Provides clear strategic direction for the English faculty, ensuring
high-quality teaching, learning, and achievement across all phases.

·Leads, mentors, and develops a team of English teachers, fostering a
collaborative, high-performing, and accountable culture.

·Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and
the sharing of best practice within the department.

·Embodies a growth mindset, being reflective, adaptable, and solution
focused.

·Is creative, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking, with the ability to
inspire both students and staff.

·Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building
strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.

·Uses data and assessment effectively to inform decision-making, raise
