Job Details

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teaching & Learning Coach to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Principal, with a whole-school remit to drive excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.


The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior and middle leaders, including the SENCO and phase leaders, to embed a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the school.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to shape pedagogy, develop staff, and ensure consistently high standards of student progress and achievement.


Key Responsibilities


• Lead the development of teaching and learning across the school, with a focus on pedagogy, progress, and academic standards
• Drive excellence in both internal and external assessments
• Design and deliver a high-quality professional development programme for all teaching staff
• Coach and mentor teachers to develop reflective practice and innovative teaching strategies
• Conduct supportive lesson observations and contribute to quality assurance processes
• Monitor and improve the quality of feedback and assessment practices across the school
• Ensure schemes of work, lesson planning, and assessment documentation meet GEMS standards
• Support the implementation of school improvement priorities and contribute to strategic planning
• Lead internal inspection processes, including audits, reporting, and follow-up actions
• Identify and share best practice across the school, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement
• Contribute to staff recruitment processes, including delivering micro-teach sessions
• Work closely with SLT to track progress against school targets and provide regular updates


Academic & Pastoral Responsibilities


• Build strong professional relationships with teachers, fostering a culture of openness and ambition
• Support staff in developing outstanding teaching and assessment practices
• Lead training sessions on teaching and learning during staff development days
• Promote inclusive, differentiated teaching that meets the needs of all learners
• Engage in external networks, peer reviews, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (essential)
• Recognised teaching qualification (essential)


Experience
• Proven experience in a leadership role focused on teaching and learning
• Strong track record of improving classroom practice and student outcomes
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and delivering professional development


Skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to inspire, challenge, and support staff at all levels
• Confident in using data and assessment to drive improvement
• Strong ICT skills to support teaching and learning innovation
