About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Server & Storage Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade server and storage solutions, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and robust security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support critical business applications and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain VMware virtualization environments using vSphere

Deploy and manage Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure

Configure and administer SAN and NAS storage arrays, including provisioning, zoning, and performance tuning

Install, configure, and support physical and virtual servers running Windows and Linux operating systems

Monitor system health, perform capacity planning, and optimize resource utilization

Troubleshoot hardware, storage, and virtualization issues to ensure minimal downtime

Implement backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions

Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures

Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to integrate server and storage solutions

Participate in change management, patching, and upgrade activities

Provide on-call support and escalate incidents as needed

Skills

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in server and storage engineering

Expertise in VMware vSphere virtualization technologies

Hands-on experience with Dell EMC VxRail hyperconverged platforms

Proficiency in SAN environments (Fibre Channel, iSCSI) and NAS solutions

Strong knowledge of enterprise server hardware (Dell, HP, Cisco)

Experience with Windows Server and Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing)

Proven ability to perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification

Dell EMC Proven Professional (EMCISA, EMCIE) or similar storage certification

Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)

Familiarity with cloud integration (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architectures

ITIL Foundation or advanced IT service management certification

Project management experience or PMP certification

Knowledge of backup and recovery tools (Veeam, Commvault)
