Job description

Charterhouse is currently working with a leading global private capital investor that is undergoing a major step-change in its use of AI and automation. With offices across the UK, USA, UAE and other global hubs, the firm runs a high performance, investment led environment and is now ready to bring its AI capability fully in house.

As part of this transformation, we are exclusively supporting the appointment of a Head of AI & Automation. This will be the firm’s first dedicated AI hire (Individual Contributor) and a pivotal role in shaping how the organisation will operate in the years ahead.

About the Role

The Head of AI & Automation is a practical, high‑impact role that will take charge of the firm’s AI, automation and data efforts. The focus isn’t on building complex machine‑learning systems from scratch, but on choosing the right tools, setting them up properly and making sure they’re used effectively across the business. The four points of focus for this individual will be AI Implementation & tooling, training, Adoption & Change Management, Workflow Automation & Integration & Governance & Vendor Management.

The Head of AI & Automation will step into a setup that already has a clear technical foundation, working prototypes and a prioritised roadmap created with an external consultancy. The role is to turn these into real, everyday solutions which includes driving delivery, training teams, managing vendors and helping the wider organisation adopt new ways of working.

The position will be reporting directly to the CEO/COO and working closely with IT, investment teams, portfolio operations and external partners, this position plays a central role in how the firm evolves its operations.
