Job description
This is a full-time role for a specialist intellectual property associate at Ownership located onsite in Abu Dhabi Global Markets (ADGM) in the UAE. The candidate can expect to be involved in all aspects of intellectual property work undertaken by the firm, and be independently responsible for trade mark clearance searches, and trade mark, design and copyright prosecution. The candidate will be led by a Principal for other work, including trade mark cancellation actions and oppositions, intellectual property portfolio management, commercialisation, enforcement and anti-counterfeiting.
Ownership is a young regional specialist intellectual property firm which provides legal services to a wide range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. Ownership handles intellectual property matters across the Middle East and other jurisdictions in Asia, including in China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Singapore and Malaysia.
Skills
- Qualified as a trade mark attorney or as an attorney-at-law (solicitor or equivalent) specialising in trade mark related work
- Able to work onsite in ADGM
- Up to 3 years' relevant experience in the UAE, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Malaysia, UK, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
- Written and verbal communication skills in English (required) and Arabic (preferred))
- Strong reasoning and analytical skills
