Job description
Function/Role:
- Preparing accurate, competitive and compliant tender submissiongs
- Review and interpret tender documents, drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Identify project scope, key requirements, and potential risks or ambiguities.
- Prepare quiries (RFIs) for missing or unclear information
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawing and models
- Verify BOQ quantities and highlight discrepancies
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracted works.
- Request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate received quotations for compliance, competitiveness, and completeness.
- Negotiate pricing and terms where required.
- Analyziee market rates, historical data, and project benchmarks.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Assess risks and include appropriate contingencies.
- Ensure pricing aligns with company profit target submissions as per client requirements.
- Compile cost summaries, clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions.
- Ensure all tender documents are complete, accurate, and submitted before deadlines.
- Support management during tender review and approval stages.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, and project teams to refine estimates.
- Attend tender meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences.
- Provide clarififations to clients during post tender evalutions.
- Maintain updated databases of material prices, labour rates, and subcontractor lists.
- Document tender outcomes and lessons learned for future improvement.
- Track tender progress and prepare periodic reports for management.
Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of piling techniques and methodologies
- Ability to calculate costs and prepare accurate estimates
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating projects
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Competency in using estimating software and tools
- Understanding of construction regulations and safety standards
- Time management and organization skills to meet deadlines
