Roles & Responsibilities
- Designing and analyzing structures such as bridges, buildings, and dams to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Conducting site investigations and surveys to gather data on soil, topography, and other environmental factors affecting structural integrity.
- Collaborating with architects and other engineers to develop comprehensive project plans that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Utilizing advanced software tools for modeling and simulation to predict structural performance under various conditions.
- Preparing detailed drawings and specifications for construction documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy for contractors.
- Conducting risk assessments and applying engineering principles to mitigate potential hazards and ensure the longevity of structures.
- Managing project timelines and budgets while coordinating with construction teams to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Performing inspections and evaluations of existing structures to assess their condition and recommend necessary repairs or modifications.
- Staying updated on industry standards, building codes, and new materials to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent international certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in civil structural engineering, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Experience in designing complex structures, particularly in seismic or wind-resistant applications, is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, and Revit for design and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
- Proficient in English, with additional language skills considered an asset for international projects.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-engineers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities.
- Adaptability and a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and methodologies in structural engineering.
