Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Drawing & Modelling: Prepare detailed 2D (using AutoCAD) showing crane positions, load paths, boom radii, and rigging arrangements.
Site Planning: Map out site layouts, identifying overhead/underground obstacles, power lines, and swing paths to ensure safe crane setup and movement.
Technical Calculations: Assist engineers with calculating load weights, center of gravity, ground bearing pressures, and rigging gear capacities (sling angles, shackles, spreader beams).
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain organized drawing registers, revise plans as site conditions change, and verify that all plans adhere to safety standards (e.g., ASME, OSHA, ISO).
Collaboration: Coordinate closely with project managers, Lifting Supervisors, and Rigging crews to ensure the lifting plan is practical and clearly understood prior to execution
Desired Candidate Profile
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Software Skills: High proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various crane types (mobile, crawler, tower), rigging methods, and the ability to interpret crane load charts and lifting procedures.
Education: Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Drafting, or a relevant degree in Engineering
Experience: 5+ years of experience in heavy lift, oil and gas, or construction projects.
