About the role

Our client, a renowned financial institution, is seeking a financial controller to join their team. As a principal professional, financial controller, you will report to the chief financial controller and support the financial controller division within the finance, budget, and accounting department. The ideal candidate will have extensive IFRS reporting expertise, strong financial control and balance sheet management capability, and deep experience in treasury and loan product accounting, which will align successfully in the organization.

About the requirements

  • Review and prepare the bank’s financial statements in accordance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage and improve financial control activities, including general ledger oversight, account reconciliations, treasury accounting, budgeting, and compliance with established reporting cycles.
  • Prepare comprehensive balance sheet and income statement analyses, quarterly and annual financial performance reports, and investor roadshow presentations.
  • Develop, adapt, and implement financial and accounting standards covering loans and grants, borrowings, investments, derivatives, capital, payroll, fixed assets, and administrative accounts.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders through audit issue resolution, system implementation initiatives, external data submissions (including rating agencies), and continuous improvement of financial control policies and processes, including the use of AI and RPA technologies.

About you

  • Master’s degree or equivalent, and/or chartered accountant (CA) or certified public accountant (CPA), with finance as a specialisation.
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant professional experience, including extensive IFRS reporting in loan products, treasury finance, hedge accounting, and budgeting.
  • Proven experience in leading Big 4 accounting firms, commercial banks, or multilateral development banks, with strong collaboration, relationship management, and service delivery skills, and fluency in English.
