Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Light Gauge Steel Structural Engineer with strong modular and offsite construction experience to lead the structural design, analysis, and coordination of prefabricated modular building systems. The role focuses on designing cold-formed steel framing for modular units, ensuring structural integrity during manufacturing, transportation, lifting, and installation, while complying with relevant international codes and project requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Structural Design & Engineering
Design and analyse Light Gauge / Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) systems for modular units, volumetric modules, and hybrid structures
Perform structural checks for in-service loads, transportation loads, lifting stresses, stacking, and temporary conditions
Develop optimized structural systems considering manufacturability, repeatability, and cost efficiency
Prepare detailed structural calculations, design reports, and authority submission documents
Modular & Offsite Construction Support
Coordinate with factory production teams to ensure designs align with manufacturing processes
Review and approve shop drawings, framing layouts, and connection details for modular units
Provide technical input on module-to-module connections, tie-down systems, tolerances, and assembly sequencing
Support lifting plans, transportation methods, and installation strategies
Coordination & Project Delivery
Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and QA/QC teams
Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and value engineering exercises
Respond to RFIs, technical queries, and site/factory issues during production and erection
Codes, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with AISI, Eurocode, ASCE, IBC, and local building authority requirements
Support authority approvals and respond to technical review comments
Maintain engineering quality, safety standards, and documentation control
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 5–10 years experience in Light Gauge Steel structures, with proven modular construction experience
Strong understanding of offsite manufacturing and modular building systems
Technical Skills
LGS / Modular design software: FrameCAD, Vertex, Tekla Structures, Revit
Structural analysis tools: STRAP, STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000
AutoCAD and BIM coordination workflows
Good knowledge of connection design, bracing systems, load transfer, and tolerances
Soft Skills
Strong coordination and interdisciplinary communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced modular production environment
Problem-solving mindset with focus on buildability
High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Preferred / Added Advantage
Experience in GCC / UAE modular projects
Familiarity with factory QA/QC systems and production workflows
Knowledge of transportation and lifting engineering for modular units
Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer certification
Work Environment
Office-based with regular coordination at modular manufacturing facilities
Occasional site visits during installation and commissioning
Project-driven schedules aligned with factory production timelines
