Logistics Specialist
To manage and execute time-critical (express) logistics operations across the MEA region, ensuring uninterrupted business continuity, optimized shipping solutions, and strong coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
•
Express Shipment Management
•
Handle urgent and time-sensitive shipments (air/express courier)
•
Ensure fastest and most cost-effective routing for critical deliveries
•
Coordinate with global suppliers and mother plants for priority dispatch
•
Provide round-the-clock support for critical business requirements
•
Act as escalation point for urgent logistics issues and delays
•
Ensure immediate response and resolution for shipment disruptions
End-to-End Shipment Coordination
•
Manage booking, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery
•
Track shipments proactively and ensure on-time delivery (OTIF)
•
Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and transport partners
MEA Logistics Expertise
•
Navigate regional complexities (customs regulations, country-specific requirements)
•
Ensure compliance with import/export laws across MEA markets
•
Manage cross-border shipments efficiently
Manufacturing & Supply Understanding
•
Aligning logistics priorities with production and supply urgency
•
Understand critical spare parts / consumables impact on operations
•
Support plant-to-customer emergency movements
Digitalization & Systems
•
Utilize ERP and logistics systems for shipment tracking and reporting
•
Drive digital solutions for visibility, automation, and process efficiency
•
Maintain accurate and real-time shipment data
Commercial & Cost Management
•
Optimize express freight costs without compromising urgency
•
Negotiate rates with logistics service providers
•
Monitor and control logistics spent on emergency shipments
Stakeholder Coordination
•
Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain teams
•
Provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders
•
Ensure high customer satisfaction during critical deliveries
Risk & Contingency Handling
•
Identify potential delays and implement alternative solutions
•
Manage disruptions such as flight delays, customs hold, or regional issues
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
•
5–8 years in logistics, with strong focus on express / air freight operations
•
Proven experience in MEA logistics environment
•
Experience in handling time-critical shipment
•
Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and customs procedures
•
Experience with ERP systems and logistics tracking tools
•
Good understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes
Commercial Acumen
•
Experience in freight cost management and vendor negotiations
•
Ability to balance service level and cost efficiency
Soft Skills
•
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies
•
