Role Overview
A growing commodities trading organisation is seeking a Trade Finance Analyst to support the management, optimisation, and expansion of its trade finance and working capital activities. Reporting to the Treasury & Trade Finance Manager, this individual will play a key role in facilitating trade execution, liquidity management, structured financing solutions, and banking relationships across the trading portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end execution of trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Standby LCs, and other payment security structures supporting commodity trading transactions.
Review, negotiate, and administer trade finance documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, banking requirements, and industry best practices.
Support the structuring and execution of trade finance solutions, including inventory financing, receivables financing, invoice discounting, and other working capital facilities.
Partner with Trading, Treasury, Operations, and Finance teams to optimise liquidity, funding strategies, and trade finance utilisation.
Maintain relationships with banks, credit insurers, and financial institutions to secure and manage financing facilities.
Monitor collateral requirements, process margin calls, reconcile collateral movements, and support liquidity forecasting.
Identify and mitigate operational, documentary, and financial risks associated with trade finance and collateral management activities.
Maintain accurate transaction records, reporting, and controls across the full lifecycle of trade finance and collateral activities.
5+ years' experience in Trade Finance, Treasury, Structured Commodity Finance, or Working Capital Management, with exposure to commodity trading environments.
Strong knowledge of Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Receivables Financing, Inventory Financing, and other trade finance products.
Experience managing relationships with banks, financial institutions, and credit insurers.
Proven ability to operate within a fast-paced trading business while maintaining strong risk and control standards.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline; professional qualifications (ACT, CTP, CFA, ACA, ACCA) are advantageous.
Experience with trade finance platforms (e.g. Komgo) and advanced Excel skills; financial modelling and data analysis capabilities are preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
