Roles & Responsibilities
Part of the Engineering Team delivering primary engineering solutions for TAQA Transmission and DEWA substation projects.
Manage the complete primary engineering lifecycle from project initiation through As-Built documentation in compliance with TAQA Transmission, DEWA, QA/QC, and HSE standards.
Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), equipment layouts, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, grounding/earthing layouts, and associated engineering deliverables.
Coordinate with civil engineering teams for steel structures, equipment foundations, and electrical-mechanical interface integration.
Support procurement activities through technical specification preparation, supplier bid evaluations, technical clarifications, and negotiations.
Assist the Lead Engineer in coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers while ensuring timely resolution and closure of site issues.
Perform the role of Primary Engineer for HV/EHV AIS and GIS substations (132kV, 220kV, 400kV+) in accordance with TAQA Transmission and DEWA requirements.
Prepare engineering calculations including short-circuit studies, cable sizing, earthing design, lightning protection analysis, and equipment schedules.
Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ/PEMS), technical deviation reports, clarification documents, and complete engineering packages.
Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities, including preparation of RFQs for HV/MV systems and auxiliary equipment.
Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor engineering documents to ensure compliance with TAQA Transmission and DEWA standards.
Maintain effective coordination with internal departments, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to achieve timely and successful project delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience Required
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
· 10-12 years of experience in Primary engineering for HV/EHV substations.
· Experience with utilities such as TAQA TRANSMISSION, DEWA, FEWA or international utilities.
