Roles & Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on complex immigration laws and policies, developing strategic pathways for their legal status.
  • Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including deportation hearings and asylum applications.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on immigration case law and statutory changes to ensure accurate and effective counsel.
  • Negotiate with government attorneys and immigration officials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and appeals, to support client cases.
  • Stay abreast of evolving immigration regulations and policy shifts, proactively informing clients of potential impacts.
  • Conduct client interviews and fact-finding to gather essential information for case preparation.
  • Provide counsel on compliance with immigration laws for individuals and businesses, mitigating legal risks.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed throughout the process.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record of successfully handling complex immigration cases (e.g., asylum, deportation defense, complex family petitions).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish or another widely spoken immigrant language is a significant advantage.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to client advocacy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
