Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage project-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures aligned with ADNOC and UAE regulations.

  • Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments (HIRA, JSA, HAZOP/HAZID), reporting hazards and recommending solutions.

  • Perform incident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Lead emergency response/drills, including confined space rescue, firefighting, spill response training.

  • Deliver HSE training programs and toolbox talks and promote safety culture among all stakeholders.

  • Review and approve contractors’ HSE documentation (risk assessments, method statements, PTW requests).

  • Monitor HSE performance metrics (KPI), prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports for senior management.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies (ADNOC, MOH, Department of Health), and support audits and inspections.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and sustainability projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.

  • 10 years of experience with minimum 8 years of HSE experience in oil & gas EPC projects in UAE. ADNOC project exposure essential. (Pipeline Preferred)

  • ADNOC-approved (direct approval) HSE Engineer or candidate eligible for approval.

  • NEBOSH IGC Level 6 / NVQ Level 7 or equivalent certification mandatory, IOSH, ISO45001 certification preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, ISO 9001/14001/OHSAS18001/45001

  • Proven skills in incident investigation, risk assessments, audit procedures.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
