Dutco Construction L.L.C is part of the Dutco Group of Construction companies which started operations in the United Arab Emirates in the 1970s and today considered one of the leading heavy civil and marine contractors in the UAE.
We employ more than 10,000 people, making us one of the largest construction companies in the region with an extensive track record in large-scale projects including power stations, reservoirs, hotels, airport infrastructure and port development. Many of the country’s highways, tunnels and bridges have been engineered and built by us, allowing the use of our in-house asphalt, concrete, plant and machinery.
For almost 50 years we have built a strong and loyal client base across both the public and private sectors whilst working on the UAE’s iconic projects including Expo 2020, The Address Hotel renovation, Bluewaters, Marsa Al Seef, CityWalk and the expansion of the Fashion Avenue in the Dubai Mall.
We are currently hiring Land Surveyors for our project in Abu Dhabi
Job Purpose
The Land Surveyor is responsible for carrying out precise surveying and setting-out works for building construction projects, ensuring all structural elements are positioned accurately as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Out (Core Responsibility)
Perform accurate setting out for building works including:
Gridlines, benchmarks, and control points
Excavation and foundation layouts
Columns, walls, slabs, and structural components
Establish and maintain site reference points and levels.
Surveying Activities
Conduct topographic and site surveys before and during construction.
Measure distances, elevations, and angles using:
Total station
GPS/RTK systems
Auto level / laser level
Verify site conditions against design drawings.
As-Built Surveys
Prepare as-built surveys for completed works.
Record actual site measurements and deviations from design.
Submit accurate reports for project documentation and approvals.
Drawings & Coordination
Interpret construction drawings (architectural and structural).
Coordinate with:
Site engineers and foremen
QA/QC team
MEP teams to ensure alignment with services
Assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
Quality Assurance & Accuracy
Ensure all setting-out work is accurate to avoid rework.
Conduct periodic checks to confirm alignment, levels, and dimensions.
Report any deviations or site issues immediately.
Equipment Handling
Operate and maintain surveying equipment:
Total station, GPS, levels
Ensure instruments are calibrated and handled safely.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain survey records, field notes, and reports.
Prepare and update survey data for site engineers and consultants.
Submit reports on completed survey works and site progress.
Health & Safety Compliance
Follow all HSE procedures on site.
Ensure safe surveying practices, especially near excavations and height areas.
Use appropriate PPE at all times.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 4–8 years of experience in building construction projects
Strong experience in high-rise, residential, or commercial building projects preferred
GCC/UAE experience is an advantage
