Dutco Construction L.L.C is part of the Dutco Group of Construction companies which started operations in the United Arab Emirates in the 1970s and today considered one of the leading heavy civil and marine contractors in the UAE.
We employ more than 10,000 people, making us one of the largest construction companies in the region with an extensive track record in large-scale projects including power stations, reservoirs, hotels, airport infrastructure and port development. Many of the country’s highways, tunnels and bridges have been engineered and built by us, allowing the use of our in-house asphalt, concrete, plant and machinery.
For almost 50 years we have built a strong and loyal client base across both the public and private sectors whilst working on the UAE’s iconic projects including Expo 2020, The Address Hotel renovation, Bluewaters, Marsa Al Seef, CityWalk and the expansion of the Fashion Avenue in the Dubai Mall.
We are currently hiring General Foreman – Finishes for our project in Abu Dhabi
Job Purpose
The General Foreman – Finishes is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of all finishing works on-site, delivering high-quality outputs in line with project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Execution
Oversee all finishing activities, including:
Plastering, screeding, and rendering
Painting and decorative finishes
Tiling (floor and wall)
Ceiling works (gypsum, suspended ceilings)
Flooring (marble, granite, vinyl, parquet, etc.)
Joinery and carpentry
Ensure works are performed as per approved drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
Planning & Scheduling
Plan daily and weekly activities for finishing works.
Ensure proper sequencing of activities to avoid delays.
Monitor progress and ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones.
Coordination
Coordinate with:
Civil and structural teams
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams
Subcontractors and suppliers
Resolve site conflicts and ensure smooth workflow between trades.
Quality Control
Ensure all finishes meet specification requirements and approved samples/mock-ups.
Conduct internal inspections prior to consultant/client inspections.
Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented (snagging & de-snagging).
Resource & Workforce Management
Assign tasks and manage daily labor activities.
Monitor workforce productivity and performance.
Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
Health & Safety Compliance
Enforce safety procedures and ensure proper PPE usage.
Ensure compliance with site HSE standards (especially for working at height, painting, scaffolding).
Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
Snagging & Handover
Lead snagging activities and defect rectification.
Prepare finished areas for inspections and handover.
Ensure quality finishes meet client expectations prior to final approval.
Reporting
Maintain daily progress and site activity reports.
Report delays, material shortages, or technical issues to management.
Track completion of works against planned schedules.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma / Trade Certificate in Civil Engineering or relevant field (preferred)
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in construction, with strong focus on finishing works
GCC/UAE experience preferred (if applicable)
Proven experience managing subcontractors and finishing crews
