Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure at all times that the load is under complete control through the correct use of tag lines or other

necessary assistance.

  • Clearly indicate to the crane or mobile equipment operator where the load is to be moved or placed

and, where practicable, follow each load to its destination.

  • Warn and coordinate with other personnel working in the vicinity of the lifting operation to ensure area

control and exclusion compliance.

  • Stop the lifting or material handling operation immediately if anything unusual, unsafe, or unplanned

occurs, and verify that conditions are safe before work resumes.

  • Participate in loading and offloading operations from and to trucks, vessels, supply boats, jetties,

warehouses, yards, and holding areas as instructed by the Cargo Supervisor or Rigger.

  • Accompany mobile equipment operators (crane, forklift, tractor) to provide assistance during material

handling operations, including fastening, securing, and accurate positioning of loads.

  • Carry out all rigging, slinging, load‑securing, and signalling activities strictly in accordance with

approved lifting plans, risk assessments, and Permit to Work conditions.

  • Perform all lifting activities under the direction and supervision of the Senior Rigger (Level 3), Lifting

Supervisor, or Appointed Person, as applicable.

  • Observe company safety rules and regulations, participate in safety and firefighting drills as assigned,

and report accidents, near misses, equipment damage, malfunctions, or hazardous conditions

immediately to the Supervisor.

  • Ensure work is suspended when environmental or weather conditions (e.g. wind, visibility, sea state)

  • Perform general housekeeping and environmental duties, including maintaining clean jetty and work

areas and ensuring good housekeeping at all work sites.

  • Perform additional or related duties as assigned from time to time to meet operational requirements.

  • Participate only in the type, category, and complexity of lifting operations for which he is competent,


Desired Candidate Profile

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience, preferably within oil & gas or similar industrial

environments.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level sufficient to understand lifting plans, risk assessments,

Permit to Work requirements, procedures, hand signals, and safety communications, and to perform

lifting activities safely.

  • Successful completion of a minimum 2-day Rigging and Slinging training course delivered by an

ADNOC Group-approved Training Company using an approved Tutor, in accordance with ADNOC

HSE-PSW-CP19 requirements.

  • Holding a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) for Rigging and Slinging – Level 2, issued by an

ADNOC Group-approved Training Company using an approved Tutor.

  • Undergo periodic reassessment every two (2) years,

  • The following additional qualifications

  • Basic Firefighting Certificate

  • Basic First Aid Certificate

  • Carriage of Dangerous, Hazardous and Harmful (DGH) Cargo Training

  • Signaller / Banksman Training
