Roles & Responsibilities

  • The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Assistant is responsible for providing necessary support to the department in order to execute HSE objectives. The job incumbent supports HSE Engineer in safety assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, critical facility reviews, process hazard analysis, incident investigations and preventive actions.

    • Assist in implementing and maintaining safety guidelines, procedures and policies within the organization

    • Inspect work area premises for hazardous elements; record and report safety and environmental issues to the HSE Engineer

    • Support HSE Engineer in performing safety audits, visits, and environmental assessments for worksites

    • Assist in conducting Risk Assessments to evaluate HSE hazards based on Severity, Likelihood, Exposure and Frequency; and developing mitigation plans

    • Collaborate with departmental heads in initiating and implementing safety processes and measures in work areas

    • Assist with accident management and prevention including investigation of environmental accidents in regard to project site, operations, job tasks and equipment

    • Gather and disseminate incident details, near-misses, recommendations and trends

    • Input and maintain data and statistics related to company-wide accidents and incidents

    • Assist in ensuring and monitoring regulatory issues

    • Maintain internal and external reporting, such as incident notifications, incident rate reporting, and legal/regulatory reporting

    • Support HSE Engineer in delivering safety awareness education to new joiners and safety trainings for the employees

    • Coordinate with TIP to review and approve the gate pass application for chemicals or any Hazard material

    • Co-ordinate with TIP HSE regarding any HSE related issue/incident

    • Support various HSE projects and activities, as required

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years’ of relevant experience in a similar field

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Professional diploma or Certification in Occupational HSE/Process Safety/ Risk Management

  • Experience in a manufacturing and defense industry is desirable.
