Role Description The Owner role at Maisha Mabati Mills Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Owner oversees overall business strategy, sets long-term objectives, and ensures the company’s profitability and sustainable growth. Daily responsibilities include supervising operations, reviewing production and sales performance, managing key customer and supplier relationships, and making decisions on investments and resource allocation. The role also involves leading senior management, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and guiding initiatives to improve product quality and operational efficiency. The Owner represents the company in high-level negotiations, partnership discussions, and public or industry events.
Qualifications
Strong business leadership and strategic planning skills, with experience overseeing operations in manufacturing or related industries. Financial management abilities, including budgeting, cost control, and understanding of profit and loss statements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for working with customers, suppliers, regulators, and staff. Knowledge of industrial production processes, quality control practices, and health and safety regulations. Proven capability in team leadership, talent development, and fostering an inclusive, performance-oriented work culture. Ability to make data-driven decisions, manage risk, and adapt to changing market conditions. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Prior ownership, senior executive, or general management experience in manufacturing, construction, or building materials is highly beneficial.
