Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the development of novel pesticide formulations, from concept to commercialization, ensuring efficacy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Design and execute complex laboratory experiments to optimize active ingredient delivery, stability, and user-friendliness of formulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve formulation challenges, identifying root causes and implementing innovative solutions for existing and new products.
- Conduct comprehensive stability studies and compatibility testing to guarantee product shelf-life and performance under various environmental conditions.
- Collaborate closely with regulatory affairs teams to ensure all formulations meet stringent global registration requirements and data packages.
- Scale-up laboratory formulations to pilot and commercial manufacturing, providing technical guidance and ensuring process robustness.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge formulation technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and maintain a technological edge.
- Manage and mentor junior chemists and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for raw material, in-process, and finished product testing, ensuring quality control.
- Prepare technical reports, patents, and scientific publications to document research findings and protect intellectual property.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in R&D, specifically within the agrochemical or pesticide formulation industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching new pesticide formulations, from bench to market.
- Expertise in various formulation types (e.g., SC, EC, WP, WDG, OD) and their associated physicochemical properties and manufacturing processes.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, EFSA) and experience in preparing dossier data for product registration.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, particle size analysis, and rheology for formulation characterization.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative approach to overcoming complex scientific and technical challenges.
- Strong project management abilities, capable of independently managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
