Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of novel NPK fertilizer formulations, focusing on enhanced nutrient uptake and crop yield.
- Design and execute complex laboratory experiments to evaluate the efficacy, stability, and physical properties of new fertilizer products.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, translating findings into actionable insights for product improvement and new product pipelines.
- Manage pilot plant trials and scale-up processes, ensuring seamless transition from lab-scale to commercial production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with agronomists, production engineers, and marketing teams to align R&D efforts with market needs and business objectives.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape in the fertilizer industry to drive innovation.
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges and provide technical support for existing NPK fertilizer products.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for raw material and finished product quality control.
- Author technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications to document research findings and protect intellectual property.
- Mentor junior chemists and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous learning within the R&D team.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fertilizer formulation, with a strong emphasis on NPK and specialty fertilizers.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching new fertilizer products from concept to commercialization.
- Deep understanding of plant nutrition, soil science, and the chemical interactions of fertilizer components.
- Expertise in analytical techniques such as ICP-OES, AAS, XRF, particle size analysis, and rheology.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab) for experimental design and data interpretation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative approach to overcoming formulation hurdles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with global fertilizer regulations and environmental stewardship principles.
- Ability to work independently and lead project teams in a fast-paced R&D environment.
