Roles & Responsibilities

  • Inspect the installation, assembly, alignment, and commissioning of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, fans, gearboxes, motors, and associated auxiliary systems.

  • Inspect static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, reactors, separators, filters, boilers, and piping supports.

  • Verify equipment installation complies with approved drawings, manufacturer recommendations, Engineering Standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes.

  • Review and witness Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Inspect equipment foundations, anchor bolts, baseplates, grout installation, and shaft alignment using approved procedures.

  • Witness mechanical inspections and testing, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, leak, pressure, functional, performance, vibration, and run tests.

  • Verify preservation, storage, handling, and installation practices for mechanical equipment.

  • Inspect piping connections, flange alignment, bolting, gasket installation, torque, and equipment interfaces.

  • Verify dimensional inspections, tolerances, clearances, leveling, and alignment before equipment acceptance.

  • Ensure materials, equipment, and spare parts comply with approved material specifications and project requirements.

  • Review inspection reports, factory acceptance test (FAT) records, site acceptance test (SAT) reports, calibration certificates, and mechanical completion dossiers.

  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with HSE requirements, Permit to Work (PTW) procedures, and safe work practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • ADNOC Approval as a QC Mechanical Inspector (advantage).

  • Additional certifications such as API 510, API 570, API 653, ASNT, CSWIP, or AWS CWI are advantageous.

  • HSE certifications are preferred.

  • Minimum 3–10 years of experience in mechanical inspection within oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, or industrial projects.

  • Experience working on ADNOC projects or with major EPC contractors in the UAE.

  • Proven experience in the inspection, testing, and commissioning of rotating and static mechanical equipment.


Technical Knowledge

  • Engineering Standards and Specifications.

  • ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and relevant international mechanical standards.

  • API 610 (Centrifugal Pumps), API 617 (Compressors), API 618 (Reciprocating Compressors), API 661 (Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers), API 650 (Storage Tanks), API 620, API 510, API 570, and API 653, as applicable.

  • Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Mechanical alignment, vibration monitoring, shaft alignment, and equipment preservation requirements.

  • Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing procedures.

  • QA/QC documentation and NCR management.
