Overview Of The Role:
- The technician is responsible for ensuring prompt and efficient troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of marine power generators, with an emphasis on first-time-right repairs. They must stay updated with technical advancements and maintain stringent communication and reporting standards to ensure seamless operation and customer satisfaction. A major component of the role involves proactive problem-solving both on-site and in the workshop to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal unit uptime, thus minimizing potential penalties. The technician also provides 24/7 service support and emergency assistance as required.
What You Will Do:
General
- Work independently with minimal direction to troubleshoot and repair power generators.
- Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to team members for achieving excellence.
- Perform routine checks and services to ensure trouble-free operation and suggest additional necessary repairs.
- Conduct service, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components.
- Expand technical skills to cover new products and systems.
- Ensure minimal repeated service-related complaints and zero customer complaints regarding behavior or attitude on site.
- Proactively identify and solve potential problems in the workshop and field.
- Maintain effective communication with Foreman, Service Advisor, and Service Manager regarding work required.
- Utilize tools and best practices described in service manuals, SOW, and wiring diagrams to avoid rework.
- Pay attention to details, standards, and specifications, adhering to the standard operating procedure.
- Use service checklists and implement instructions from workshop manuals and wiring diagrams to ensure tasks are completed as directed.
- Monitor productivity and efficiency reports and manage number of reworks and KPI reports.

- Proficient troubleshooting skills for power generators.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, especially in technical contexts.
- Proven competency in using tools and manuals for efficient servicing.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Technical Education or Apprenticeship in relevant fields.
- Diploma in Technician/Generators/Automobile Engineering.
- Proven technical expertise in servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting independently.
- At least 5-10 years of experience with power generators.
- Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
- Valid driving license.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
