Prepare RFQs/RFPs, float tenders, and evaluate commercial and technical bids.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Coordinate with project teams to forecast material requirements based on BOQ and schedules.
Ensure procured materials meet ASTM, BS, ACI, and UAE regulatory standards.
Prepare material submittals (datasheets, samples, test certificates) for consultant approval.
Conduct vendor performance evaluations and maintain an updated approved vendor list.
Issue purchase orders and track order status from placement to delivery and inspection.
Inspect materials upon delivery for quality, quantity, and compliance with approved samples.
Manage logistics for imported materials (shipping, customs clearance, port storage).
Reconcile delivered quantities against BOQ and purchase orders.
Resolve supplier disputes, quality issues, and delivery delays promptly.

Job Summary:
We are hiring a Procurement Engineer who has a strong background in the Civil Construction field from the UAE. Experience must be with construction projects dealing with the commercial sector such as Shopping Malls, Branded Outlets, Office Buildings, High-Rise Buildings, and Low-Rise Business/Commercial Towers —and NOT Villas or Residential Houses. The ideal candidate must be proficient in working independently and capable enough to be a Leader soon.
What We Are Looking For in a Candidate for this Role:
Experience: With a minimum of 5 years in procurement within the UAE civil construction sector.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or Supply Chain Management.
Type of Construction: Must have prior experience working on High-Rise Commercial Towers, Shopping Malls, Office Complexes, or Mixed-Use Developments with bulk material quantities exceeding 50,000 tons of rebar and 200,000 m³ of concrete.
Software Proficiency (Role-Specific):
ERP Systems (SAP/Oracle/Maximo/Or any other similar for purchase orders and inventory)
Advanced MS Excel (cost analysis, budget tracking, vendor scorecards)
MS Word and Outlook (for correspondence and documentation)
Additional Skills: Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, vendor relationship management, and knowledge of local market rates and import procedures.
